COURSE CONTENT
You study how children develop, how confidence and self-image take shape, and what emotions, stress and motivation can tell you about their experience. Examples from school, friendships, family changes and everyday life connect the theory to situations you may recognise in your own work.
The course develops your coaching conversations: making contact, observing without rushing to conclusions, listening, asking useful questions and reflecting what a child is trying to express. You practise how to make a goal manageable and how to respond when a child needs a different approach.
Drawing, movement, play, emotion cards, scaling questions and role-play give children different ways to express themselves. The methods book explains when an activity may fit, what you need, how to introduce it and how to guide it. Worked examples help you see what you could actually say and do.
Children live within relationships. You learn to listen to parents, explore recurring interactions and agree on practical support at home or school. The course also covers preparing a session, reviewing progress and completing a coaching process responsibly.
HOW THE COURSE WORKS
You receive printed study materials and a portfolio available on paper and digitally. Read and practise at times that fit your life. There is no weekly classroom timetable: you determine your study pace.
Each part of the course connects explanation, examples and a practical assignment. You bring your work together in your portfolio and submit it digitally for assessment and feedback. The emphasis is on showing how you use the knowledge, explain your choices and reflect on your practice.
After successful completion of the required work and full payment, you receive your SIA certificate. Books arrive within 10 days after SIA receives your payment.
